Security beefed up for Raj Thackeray
Mumbai, Oct 28 (UNI) Pursuant to the directives of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister R R Patil, security for MNS president Raj Thackeray was beefed up today.
Police sources told UNI that adequate security has been provided to Mr Thackeray after the shootout yesterday inside a double-decker BEST bus, involving a youth from Bihar, who said he had come to the city to eliminate the MNS chief. The youth was killed in the firing by the police.
Earlier, the state government had reduced his security from Z to Y category after the MNS activists went on the rampage against North Indian candidates, appearing for Railway board's recruitment examination. However, in protest, Mr Thackeray opted for his party's security ring.
