Maharashtra: Special trains for Guru-da-Gaddi devotees

Nanded, Oct 28: The Indian Railways (IR) have run 100 special trains from different parts of the country to Nanded for the ongoing tercentenary celebrations of Guru Gobind Singh's 'Guru-da-Gaddi'.

The IR had assured of 149 special trains. The remaining trains, carrying at least one lakh devotees, will arrive up to November 12.

The trains started to arrive in the city from September 22 and till October 27, almost 8,000 devotees arrived by these trains.

These trains had departed from different destinations including Amritsar, Firozpur, Chandigarh, Adilabad, Ahmedabad and Howrah among others.

The IR have deployed 25 health squads at the railway station to diagnose and treat the devotees in case of any casualty and ill health.

The railway authorities have installed close circuit televisions at the station as part of the security measures. At the same time, the security personnel from the Central Reserve Police Force and State Reserve Police Force have been deployed along with the local police staff.
