Joseph appeals people to give evidence in BEST shoot-out case

Mumbai, Oct 28 (UNI) Maharashtra Chief Secretary Johny Joseph, who has been appointed by the state government to enquire into yesterday's shoot-out in a BEST bus, today appealed to people to pass on any information they might have pertaining to the incident.

Mr Joseph, in an official release, has asked citizens, desirous of giving any information, to contact the Mantralaya on October 31.

Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh last night ordered a probe into the shoot-out of Rahul Raj, a resident of Patna in Bihar, after he had held a bus captive at pistol point, in view of the demands of Bihar leaders, including Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, who have been crying foul over gunning down of Raj by police.

Mr Joseph also urged the citizens having any evidence to contact Ms S S Kurdikar between 1000 to 1700 hours on telephone no. 22028762 after which the exact time, date and venue for taking evidence will be communicated to them.
