Inter-state automobile gang busted, four held

Hyderabad, Oct 28 (UNI) City police today busted an inter-state automobile gang by arresting four persons including notorious fraudster and Road Transport Authority (RTA) agent Khaleel Khan for creating fake documents to the out dated six-wheelers.

Police arrested Ghulam Samdani, Mohd Khaleel Pasha and E Prabhakar Reddy and seized two six-wheeler Eicher goods vehicles and one tipper total worth Rs 25 lakh from their posession.

The modus operandi of the accused was to create fake documents to the outdated six-wheelers by procuring RC books of other state vehicles and disposing them illegally at a higher price with the help of forged documents.

Khaleel Khan, an RTA agent planned to create fake RC books and other documents of six-wheelers to run the outdated vehicles of Eicher, DCM and Tippers of about 15-years-old. He connived with some brokers and RTA officials and staff to implement his plan.

He started procuring origial RC books of six and four wheelers of other States through a broker Kamruddin from Hadapa by paying Rs 20,000 for each RC book. Kamruddin would purchase vehicles met with accidents of other states like Maharastra, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Orissa at throw away price and dispose them as scrap and sell the RC books and other documents to the khaleel khan.

After procuring original RC books of other state vehicles, Khaleel Khan would submit the same with some RTA office following the procedure of re-registering the vechile by tranferring the other state vehicles in his name.

After getting the other state vehicle re-registered in his name and procureing the RC book with AP registration number he would select the owner, who possessed the outdated vehicles of 15 years old model and convince them to sell the new RC book to use it for their old model vehicle to operate their vehicles in Hyderabad city with the help of new registration number by erasing the original engine and chassis number of out dated vehicle.

After supplying the orignal RC books to several owners of old vehicles and selling them at Rs 60,000 to 75,000, he would submit the documents to the local RTA and get it transfererd in the name of old model vehicle owner, police added.
