Fire breaks out in sandal factory on Diwali night

Kolkata, Oct 28 (UNI) A fire broke out in a Sandal factory at Picnic Garden in South Kolkata tonight.

Fire Brigade sources said 29 fire engines were pressed into service to douse the flame which erupted after 2100 hours.

The Fire Brigade Personnel were taking all required measures to prevent the fire from spreading further.

The cause of the fire and loss of property were yet to be ascertained. However, it was suspected that the fire was caused by some crackers.

This was the 3rd incident of fire in the city since Friday last.

A tannery and a shoe factory were destroyed by fire on October 24&26 respectively.
