'Deepavali Asthanam' conducted in Tirumala temple

Tirumala, Oct 28 (UNI) On the occasion of Diwali, 'Deepavali Asthanam' was conducted at the 'Bangaru Vakili' in Tirumala temple here today.

The 'Deepavali Asthanam' was preceded by special rituals like 'Vishesha Padi' and presentation of new silk 'Vastrams' to the main deity followed by a procession taken out around the 'Vimana Prakaram' inside the temple by Sriman Ramanuja Pedda Jeeyangar and other priests.

During the day, temple management dispensed with performance of all the 'Arjitha Sevas' except the 'Suprabhatam', 'Abhishekam' and 'Sahasra Deepalankara'.

TTD Chairman D K Audikesavulu Naidu, TTD Executive Officer K V Ramanachary and TTD Board member Chavireddy Bhaskar Reddy took part in the procession.
