Toll 6 in family suicide pact

Vidisha, MP, Oct 27 (UNI) With the death of one more person, the toll has gone up to six in the case of a hotel owner's family consuming poisonous substance following domestic discord stemming from financial woes at this district's Ganjbasoda town, police said.

Mr Rajkumar Sharma's son Rohit (18), Pinki (14), Riki (16) and Poonam (17) died on the spot in Rajendranagar area. Mr Sharma's wife Kamlabai (45) and daughter-in-law Reena (20) were hospitalised in critical condition at Ganjbasoda. Reena succumbed and her mother-in-law met the same fate late in the night. The hotel owner and his elder son Santosh were at the hotel when yesterday afternoon's incident occurred.

Reports said that the discord was over paucity of money for Rohit's admission to an engineering course. The family was also unable to pay for buffaloes it purchased.
