People defy curfew in Baramulla, forces burst teargas shells
Baramulla, Oct 27 (UNI) Security forces burst teargas shells and resorted to lathicharge to disperse ''pro- freedom processionists'' who defied curfew in the old town this afternoon.
Curfew in the town has been imposed yesterday afternoon after a student was killed and over a dozen others were wounded in firing and bursting of teargas shells by the security forces.
Official sources said hundreds of people again took to streets after they defied curfew restriction in the old town raising pro- freedom slogans.
When they refused to disperse, security forces burst teargas shells and also resorted to lathicharge which had no affect so far as the agitators were pelting stones.
