One lakh litre Kerosene seized, six arrested in Jammu

Jammu, Oct 27 (UNI) The sleuths of Crime Branch busted a black-marketing racket of Kerosene Oil and seized one lakh litre of the oil from Jhajjar Kotli in Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir, sources said here today.

''Based on specific inputs, three teams were constituted and raids were conducted at Jhajjar Kotli, Manthal, Tikri, Rehmbal, Garhi and Udhampur town along the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway last evening,'' sources told UNI adding that one lakh litre of kerosene was seized worth lakhs in the open market.

''Six kerosene dealers were arrested on the spot from various places while over a dozen are still absconding,'' sources said.

''The raids were conducted against illegal dumping and adulteration of kerosene oil in diesel,'' Senior Superintendent of Police, Crime Branch Jammu, J P Singh told UNI.

Meanwhile a nexus between the kerosene dealers and the employees of CAPD was also exposed by the team of Crime Branch.
