Notification issued for second and final phase in C'garh
Raipur, Oct 27 (UNI) The process for the second and final phase of polling in 51 assembly constituencies in Chhattisgarh was set in motion today with the Governor issuing the notification.
The last date for filing of nominations is November 3.
Nominations will come up for scrutiny on November 4 and the last date for withdrawal of candidature is November 6.
Fifty-one assembly segments in eight districts -- Koriya, Sarguja, Jashpur, Raigarh, Korba, Bilaspur, Janjgeer Chapa and Raipur -- will go to ballot in the second phase, state election office sources said.
Of the 90 assembly segments which go to polls in two phases, 39 of them in 10 districts will face election in the first phase on November 15, while 51 constituencies in nine districts in the second phase on November 20. Today is the last day for filing nomination for the first phase of polling.
The counting of votes will be taken up on December 8.
