Madras HC Additional Judge Transferred To Punjab

New Delhi, Oct 27 (UNI) Madras High Court Additional Judge K Kannan has been transferred to the Punjab and Haryana HC by President Pratibha Patil, Law and Justice Ministry announced this evening.

Justice Kannan has been asked to assume the new posting by November 6, the announcement said.

A count three months ago showed that 26 of 68 judgeships in Punjab and Haryana HC were vacant and four of 49 judgeships in Madras HC. The same count showed 264 of 876 judgeships in 21 HCs nationwide to be vacant.
