Govt schools remain closed, teachers' strike continues
Hyderabad, Oct 27: Government schools in Andhra Pradesh remained closed on Monday, Oct 27 as the state-wide strike, called by the Joint Action Committee of Teachers' Organisations (JACTO), entered the sixth day.
The striking teachers organised dharnas in front of all Mandal Revenue Offices in the state. They also conducted rallies all over the state. They also met leaders of various political parties to seek their support for their cause.
JACTO leaders said here they would intensify their agitation to press their demands. They said they would wear black badges on Diwali on October 28 to show their resentment against the government's alleged lax attitude to their demands, including unified service rules and promotions to teachers.
