BJP, RSS responsible for communal tension in Orissa: Tarigami
Jammu Oct 27 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir State Secretary of CPI (M) Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami today said that Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS) and the BJP were ''responsible'' for communal tension in Orissa and alleged that UPA government have been 'soft' towards perpetrators of violence against minorities.
''The Centre has failed to take a stern step against those responsible for ''encouraging'' the communal tension in Orissa,' Mr Tarigami told mediapersons at a press conference here, adding that it's unfortunate that the UPA government was being 'soft' when the state was passing through a hard time with law and constitutional breakdown due to the communal tension continuing to unleash violence on minorities.
The CPI-M leader, however, urged the political parties to sensibly handle their responsibility during the coming assembly election in Jammu and Kashmir and not to raise such slogans which create wedge within the state on regional and religion basis.
''All political parties in the state should behave in a responsible manner as it is their obligation to be a part of process of reconciliation,'' added Mr Tarigami.
Meanwhile, the leader rejected the divisive voices in the state and said, ''the aspirations of people from all the three regions of Jammu and Kashmir should be dealt with under federal structure of the state,'' he asserted.
Hinting at those boycotting the assembly polls, Mr Tarigami said, ''Boycotting the electoral process is not the alternative to any problem as it is not in the interest of Kashmir resolution.'' UNI VBH AKJ RR GC1442
