Punjab to spend Rs 10,000 crore on urban, rural development
Ludhiana, Oct 26 (UNI) The Punjab Government has prepared a detailed plan of more than Rs 10,000 crore for urban and rural development, out of which funds amounting to Rs 5500 crore, were being spent to provide basic amenities including sewerage, water supply, roads, street lights in all the cities of the state.
This was revealed by Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal while addressing well attended gatherings at 'Sangat Darshan' programmes at five places covering eleven Municipal Wards in Ludhiana North constituency here today.
Mr Badal said that the government would ensure basic amenities to the entire urban population during a period of three years. ty.
The Chief Minister called upon the people to extend full cooperation to the government machinery for ensuring cleanliness.
He said that the government will release sufficient funds for other development projects of different departments to ensure the fast development of Ludhiana.
