Political parties ignoring Extremely Backward Classes: Singh
Patna, Oct 26 (UNI) The Bihar State Extremely Backward Classes Awareness Organisation has alleged that almost all political parties are ignoring their interests and denying due representation while distributing tickets for Assembly and Lok Sabha elections.
While addressing the state-level convention of the organisation, its president and RJD MLC Bhim Singh said none of the political parties had given important posts like president, general secretary and chief whip to people belonging to extremely backward classes.
Similarly, no worker from this section of the society was given ticket by the political parties during the state Assembly and Lok Sabha election, he added.
''During the Lok Sabha elections in 2004, the RJD had given one ticket to extremely backward classes while all other parties -- JD(U), BJP, LJP, and Congress-- had totally ignored this section,'' Mr Singh lamented and exhorted them to prepare themselves to struggle for securing their due rights.
''If political parties continue to ignore extremely backward classes, they would have to suffer in coming electoral hustings,'' he warned.
