NE monsoon continues to be vigorous over Kerala
Thiruvananthapuram, Oct 26 (UNI) The North-East monsoon continued to be vigorous over Kerala, with heavy rains at most places in the state and in Lakshwadeep, local Met office said here today.
The Met office also said heavy to very heavy rainfall was likely at isolated places in Kerala in the next 24 hrs.
Vellanikara recorded the highest rainfall of ten cms followed by Ottapalam (nine cm).
Other chief amounts of rainfall received in cm were: Thrissur and Kanjeripally eight each, Kochi, Manjeri and Karipur Airport seven each, Thodupuzha and Vaithiri six each, Kollamkode and Perinthalmanna five each.
The Met office also warned that strong onshore winds were likely from the westerly direction along and off Kerala Coast and Lakshwadeep in the next 24 hrs.
