Haryana police bust gang of dacoits

Kaithal,Oct 26 (UNI) The district police has claimed to have busted a gang of armed dacoits here who were planning to loot vehicles on Jind road here.

The police has arrested four members of this gang while two others escaped under the cover of darkness last night . The police recovered a loaded pistol, iron rods and a torch from their possession.

All the four accused were produced in a local court today which sent them in 14 day judicial custody.

Giving details , SP Sultan Singh said that those arrested have been identified as Ram Mehar alias Midha of Balu village, Kaptan alias Tana of Bullakheri under Alewa police sation, Rakesh of Balu and Sat Narain of Narwal Garh. The two who escaped have been identified as Subhash of Belarkhan and Shish Pal of Devigarh .

All the accused were booked under section 399, 402 of IPC and 25,54 and 59 of Arms Act.

Elsewhere in the district, the police arrested eight persons on the charge of gambling and playing satta in Kaithal town and in Pundri.
