Aires challenges Minister to prove he is SSC

Panaji, Oct 26 (UNI) NGO Utt Goenkara spokesperson, Advocate Aires Rodrigues has challenged Goa Education Minister Atanasio Monserrate to prove that he has a Secondary School Certificate (SSC) from St Theresa's High School, Bandra, Mumbai, as claimed by him in an affidavit.

Mr Aires, in a statement here, said after thorough investigation and with all supporting documentary evidence, he had accused the Minister of having filed a false affidavit, regarding his educational qualification.

Earlier, the returning officer of Taleigao constituency, Sabbaji Shetye had issued a notice on October 21 to the minister, directing him to file his reply, with all documents, within seven days in connection with the complaint filed by Advocate Rodrigues.

Rodrigues had alleged that the minister had filed a false affidavit about his educational qualification in his declaration during the May 2007 Assembly elections.
