5 die in family suicide pact

Vidisha, MP, Oct 26 (UNI) Four children and a woman died after six members of a hotel owner's family consumed a poisonous substance today following domestic discord stemming from financial woes at this district's Ganjbasoda town, police said.

Rajkumar Sharma's children Rohit (18), Pinki (14), Riki (16) and Poonam (17) died on the spot in Rajendranagar area.

Mr Sharma's wife Kamlabai (45) and daughter-in-law Reena (20) were hospitalised in critical condition at Ganjbasoda where Reena succumbed.

The hotel owner and his elder son Santosh were at the hotel when the incident occurred. Preliminary reports said that the discord was over paucity of money for Rohit's admission to an engineering course.
