Striking teachers gherao Ministers

Kakinada, Oct 25 (UNI) Striking teachers in Andhra Pradesh, owing allegiance to Joint Action Committee of Teachers Organisations (JACTO), today laid siege to the Collectorate and gheraoed Small Scale Industries Minister Gollapalli Suryarao and Social Welfare Minister Pilli Subhas Chandra Bose, demanding early settlement of their ''legitimate demands''.

Police had a tough time in controlling the protesting teachers and clearing the way for the ministers. Later, the teachers also thronged the Zilla Parishad conference hall, where the two ministers, along with Collector Gopalakrishna Dwivedi and Joint Collector K Sasidhar, were participating in the general body meeting.

They staged protest demonstrations, raising slogans in support of their demands.
