Seven feared drowned in boat tragedy

Malkangiri, Oct 25 (UNI) At least seven people, including two women, were feared drowned after a boat carrying them capsized in Chitrakonda reservoir near Singaram under Kudumulaguma block of the district yesterday.

Police today said 11 peole were returning to their village Sutibandi after attending the weekly market at Dyke-3 when the mishap took place.

While four swam to safety, seven were missing.

The missing included two women.

Police said the rescue operation was hampered due to heavy rain.

Seven people drowned last year at the same spot, the police said.
