Madge's refusal to fund Guy's next movie doomed her marriage

Washington, October 25 : Madonna's alleged refusal to invest in Guy Ritchie's next movie is said to have played a key role in breaking the back of the couple's eight-year marriage.

The Brit director had reportedly foreseen the break-up when the Queen of Pop declined to support her soon-to-be-ex hubby financially, according to a source.

"This was one of the reasons that Guy knew his marriage was doomed," Fox News quoted a source as saying.

"If the wife won't back you, who will?" the source added.

Reports claimed that Guy had previously hit the roof after finding out that he was being spied upon by Madonna and had accused the singer for practicing underhand tactics to put him on the blacklist.

The source further added: "He knows that Madonna and her big PR guns will pull out all the stops to damage him and his reputation."

Meanwhile, the 40-year-old director has been fighting rumours claiming that he had moved on to a new girl namely actress Kelly Reilly, who stars in his forthcoming flick 'Sherlock Holmes'.
