District bus operators to join State-wide stir
Kozhikode, Oct 25 (UNI) The bus operators in Kozhhikode district today decided to join the state-wide agitations on October 30 and November 11 called by Kerala State Bus Operators Associations protest against allocation of route permits to government-owned buses.
Talking to newspersons here, Kozhikode District Bus Operators Co-ordination Committee Chairman E Asokan said the organisation would ensure total success of the token strike on October 30 and indefinite stir from November 11 if the government continued to issue permits in the routes held by private buses.
He said the decision to join the agitation was taken as hundreds of workers employed by private players would be rendered jobless if the permit to the routes, on which private buses have plied for decades, was allocated to the government-run bus corporation.
