Depression causes untimely rain in Gangetic West Bengal

Kolkata, Oct 25 (UNI) The well marked low pressure area over West Central Bay of Bengal has concentrated into a strong depression today causing untimely rain in the city and its adjoining areas.

Local Met office said, the system was likely to intensify further and may cause heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated palces in Gangetic West Bengal.

Under its influence few spells of rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at many places in the state including Howrah, Hoogly, North and South 24 Parganas and Kolkata.

Forecasting generally cloudy sky, the met officials recorded maximum temperature at 29.3 degrees Celcius and minimum at 24.6 degrees Celcius.

The weathermen has recorded 0.1 mm rainfall so far.
