TN: Congress protests damage of Rajiv's statue
Srirangam, Oct 25: Members of the Srirangam Town Congress Committee staged a slogan-shouting demonstration on Saturday, Oct 25 protesting against the damage of the former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi's statue in the outskirts of Chennai on Friday, Oct 24.
Police said the demonstrators demanded the supporters of the banned Liberation Tigers Of Tamil Eelam (LTTE)detained under the National Security Act(NSA).
Similar demonstrations were held at adjoining Pudukkottai, Karur, Perambalur and Ariyalur districts.
