Walkout by AIADMK members in RS over Vaiko arrest
New Delhi, Oct 24 (UNI) The Rajya Sabha today witnessed a walkout by members of the AIADMK over yesterday's arrest of party leader Vaiko in Chennai on charges of sedition.
The issue was raised during the Question Hour with AIADMK members creating noisy scenes over the arrest of the MDMK leader after he called upon people to arm their "Tamil brethren" if the Indian Government supplied arms to the Sri Lankan Army.
The party members raised slogans, disrupting proceedings for a brief period.
Later, all the AIADMK members staged a walkout from the House.
Mr Vaiko was arrested along with MDMK presidium chairman M Kannapan in Chennai yesterday, two days after he stated at a public meeting a separate Tamil Eelam under the leadership of LTTE chief V Prabhakaran would become a reality.
