Two teachers, shopkeeper selling mid-day meals held in Kishtwar

Jammu, Oct 24 (UNI) Two government teachers were arrested for allegedly selling the mid-day meal supplies, meant for students' consumption, to the shopkeepers in the eastern district of Kishtwar here, police sources today said.

On a specific information, a police party last evening raided a shop in Kishtwar town and caught red-handed two government school teachers when they were trying to sell the mid-day meals ration to a shop owner Farooq Ahmad, who was also arrested.

The arrested government employees were identified as Riyaz Ahmed, the stores in charge for schools falling under Chhatru zone and Imtiyaz Ahmed Wani (a teacher employed under Rehber-e-Taleem scheme), the sources said.

Police have registered a case against the accused and recovered 800 kg rice besides other ration meant for the mid-day meals of primary class students of government schools.
