AP: Two rowdy-sheeters killed in encounter
Warangal, Oct 24: Two rowdy-sheeters were killed in an ''encounter'' with the police at Ursugutta in the town early today.
Police said the rowdy-sheeters G Jagan, alias Jayaraj, (33) and A Ratnakar (30) gave the slip to police when they were being brought from the Cherlapalli Central prison in Hyderabad last night, for interrogation in connection with pending cases.
Police said when a police party, led by Sub-inspector Anjaneyulu, spotted them later and asked them to surrender, Jagan snatched revolver from the SI and opened fire. The police party returned the fire, killing them on the spot.
The modus operandi of the duo was to kill their targets in a horrifying manner, and leave them in front of their houses a day later after separating head from the body, police added.
While 15 cases, including six murder cases, were pending against Jagan, six cases, including four murder cases, were pending against Ratnakar. Lethal weapons, including a revolver and knife, were recovered from the spot, police added.
