SIMI worker arrested from MP in Ahmedabad blasts case
Ahmedabad, Oct 24 (UNI) The City Crime Branch has arrested Abdul Razik Mansuri, a Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) activist, from Madhya Pradesh in connection with the July 26 serial blasts in the city.
Mansuri, who is a resident of the city, was arrested from Nagda district in Madhya Pradesh yesterday and has been brought to Ahmedabad for interrogation.
Joint Commissioner of Police Ashish Bhatia today said the crime branch team arrested Mansuri from his relative's home, where he had taken shelter.
Mansuri has been an active worker of SIMI and is alleged to have purchased the bicycles used in the serial blasts.
He took part in SIMI training camp in Kerala and is also suspected to have been invloved in training camps held near Pavagadh in Gujarat early this year, Mr Bhatia said.
Earlier, city crime branch arrested and brought SIMI leader Safdar Nagori and four others from Madhya Pradesh, a few weeks ago.
