Red Ribbon Express to reach Haryana on Nov 14
Chandigarh, Oct 24 (UNI) Haryana is all geared up for the success of national campaign of Red Ribbon Express (RRE) train which will pass through the State in November to spread the message of prevention of HIV/AIDS.
Haryana Health Minister Kartar Devi today said the State AIDS Control Society had made all necessary arrangements to make this project a big success.
The RRE Project is a national campaign to highlight the issue of HIV/AIDS through a train that will traverse over 9000 km during the year, covering about 180 districts or halt stations and hold programmes and activities in 43,200 villages in the country.
The project was conceptualised by Rajiv Gandhi Foundation and is being implemented by National AIDS Control Organisation (NACO) and Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangthan as a multi-sectoral project to spread awareness on HIV/AIDS and promote safe behavioral practices.
The Red Ribbon Express would begin its campaign in Haryana at Ambala on November 14 and conclude it at Rewari on November 26.
