Prachanda to consult with parties, cabinet meet today
Kathmandu, Oct 24 : Nepal Prime Minister Prachanda will hold consultations with the partners of the ruling coalition and the Nepali Congress (NC) here today over the composition of the special committee to decide the fate of the Maoist combatants.
The much-anticipated cabinet meeting, which has been postponed twice earlier, is scheduled to be held at the Prachanda's office in Singha Durbar.
The cabinet meeting has been convened for today though the bone of contention among the parties has not been finalised yet.
The government has failed to form the committees after the major parties failed to agree on who should take the reign of the to-be-formed special committee to carryout the integration process of Maoist combatants into the Nepali Army.
Earlier, Prachanda met President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav and discussed the current political scenario in the country.
During the half-hour long meeting, Prachanda informed the President about the ongoing political deliberations over army integration, Kantipur reported.
