MCX composite index of metals, energy down

Mumbai, Oct 24 (UNI) The Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) composite index of metals, energy and agro-commodities was down by 3.72 per cent at Rs 2,073.98 points today.

Metal was down by 3.80 per cent at 2,129.84 points, while MCX Agri fell by 0.38 per cent.

Gold June 09 contract was down by three per cent at Rs 1,1947 per 10 grams. Silver December 08 contract slid by 4.79 per cent at Rs 16,346 per kg, Platinum December 08 contract lost by 4.01 per cent at Rs 1,387 per 10 grams, an MCX release said.

Aluminum October 08 contract fell by 2.30 per cent at Rs 95.70 per kg, Copper November 08 contract by 4.62 per cent at Rs 197.30 per kg, Lead October 08 contract by 8.31 per cent at Rs 59.05 per kg, Nickel November 08 contract by 4.91 per cent at Rs 470.30 per kg and Zinc October 08 contract by 5.56 per cent at Rs 55.20 per kg.

Crude oil November 08 contract shrank by 5.34 per cent at Rs 3,298 per barrel, the release added.
