Maharashtra govt promoted Raj Thackeray: Akhilesh
Patna, Oct 24 (UNI) Union Minister of State for Agriculture and Consumer Issues Akhilesh Prasad Singh today held the Maharashtra government responsible behind the growing influence of MNS chief Raj Thackeray.
Condemning the attack on the students from Bihar in Mumbai, Mr Singh told newspersons here that the MPs hailing from Bihar had taken the matter seriously, adding they would soon call on Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on the issue.
Demanding stern action against Raj Thackeray, he said such incidents would not be tolerated at any cost.
''The Maharashtra government has let the MNS chief to induldge in such activities for long and sent him to jail too late,'' Mr Singh added.
He said the RJD had demanded the Election Commission to cancel the registration of the MNS in consideration of its activities and its track-record.
''The situation in the wake of students agitation in Bihar is beyond control,'' Mr Singh said and blamed the Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad for instigating the stir.
