Jaiprakash Hydro Q2 net profit down by 47.44 pc

Mumbai, Oct 24 (UNI) Jaiprakash Hydro-Power Limited today said its net profit for the second quarter ended September 30, 2008 stood at Rs 66.85 crore, a 47.44 per cent decline against last fiscal year's corresponding quarter.

The Board of Directors also declared an interim dividend of 0.75 paise per equity share of Rs 10 each for the year 2008-09. The shares of the Company were quoted at Rs 30.25, down by Rs 2.50, on the BSE today.

The Company had a net profit of Rs 127.21 crore in the same quarter previous year, the company said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange and National Stock Exchange.

The net sales dropped to Rs 108.29 crore for the quarter, from Rs 118.40 crore in the corresponding quarter of last financial year.

For the six months ended September 30, 2008, it posted a net profit of Rs 121.45 crore, while net sales stood at Rs 203.36 crore.
