Honorarium of water carriers increased to Rs 1000

Shimla, Oct 24 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal today announced to increase the monthly honorarium of part time water carriers to Rs 1000 from the existing Rs 750 from November 1.

Mr Dhumal who was addressing a public meeting at Udaipur in Lahaul valley of Lahaul and Spiti district during his one day tribal tour to the valley said that as many as 6,000 water carriers recruited in accordance with 2001 policy would be benifited with this announcement.

The state government had already enhanced the honorarium of the part-time water carriers who had been recruited on hourly basis according to 1996 recruitment policy.
