Shillong, Oct 24 (UNI) The proscribed Hynniewtrep National Liberation Council (HNLC) today refused to hold talks with the Meghalaya government.

'' The HNLC have no agenda to hold talks with the state government and police department as they are only actors of the Indian Puppet government,'' HNLC publicity secretary Sainkupar Nongtraw said.

Nongtraw was reacting to the state's Director General of Police B K Dey Sawian's statement offering the militant outfit for a dialogue.

In his e-mail statement issued here, the HNLC spokesman said the state government's offer was aimed at creating 'mistrust and confusion' among the people.

The HNLC, however, revealed that the HNLC had sent a letter for talks only to the Union Home Ministry way back in 2003 and the outfit is yet to get any reply from the Centre.

Earlier, the HNLC had prioritised six points to be included in the ceasefire agreement between the Centre and the outfit, i.e.

lifting of the ban imposed on the organisation, talks in a 'neutral' country with passage to the members, supporters and sympathisers and making transparent the agenda for talks.
