Fresh low pressure promises more rain for TN
Chennai, Oct 24 (UNI) A low pressure area over the Bay of Bengal is expected to bring more rainfall to some parts of Tamil Nadu and Chennai City.
Met office sources said the low pressure was expected to bring spells of rainfall and thundershowers, heavy at times, in some areas during the next 48 hours.
After a day's respite, Chennai City experienced heavy showers with several parts of the city coming under thick sheet of water.
Several low-lying areas were inundated.
In some areas, there was knee-deep water, affecting free flow of traffic. Motorists were put to hardship as the vehicles conked.
Though the people of the city woke up to bright sunny morning, the sky became overcast as the day progressed.
The rainfall started at around 1430 hrs and it was pouring heavily.
