Discharge from Mettur Dam suspended; level at 78.870 ft

Tiruchirapalli, Oct 24 (UNI) In view of continuous rainfall in the catchment areas and the delta region, discharge of water from the Stanley Reservoir at Mettur across River Cauvery remained suspended for the third day today.

The level in the dam stood at 78.870 feet this morning with an inflow of 18,140 cusecs.

From the Grand Anaicut, discharge of water through River Cauvery and Vennar remained suspended. However, 2,197 cusecs of water was released through Grand Anaicut Canal and 15,842 cusecs through Coleroon for irrigation.
