Coimbatore: 3 women try to bury girl child alive

Coimbatore, Oct 24: Three women attempting to bury a six-month-old girl child alive at Palladam were held by Salem Police. The child belonged to Ramesh and Lakshmi of Tirupur. They were staying with Ramesh"s mother Shanthi and her sister, Baby.

There was constant problem in the family because of the couple having a girl child.

The elders did not like the child and had spread rumours that it had mental disability.
