Caretaker found dead in NRI's house

Phagwara, Oct 24 (UNI) A rikshawpuller, who was living in a house of an NRI as caretaker, was found murdered in the house in Chahal Nagar last night, police today said.

Phagwara DSP Harkamalpreet Singh Khakh said that 51-year-old Ram Paul used to take the NRI's grand-daughter to tuition in the evening on his rickshaw, but when he did not reach the NRI's daughter's house to pick the girl, she went to the house of her father to find the reason.

She spotted blood stains near the gate of the house which were locked from inside and informed the police.

When the police entered the house after breaking the lock, it found the rickshawpuller lying in a pool of blood.

An iron rod with blood stains was also recovered from the spot.

Police have registered a case under section 302 of the IPC and sent the body for the post-mortem.
