388 polling booths set up in Rajouri for Assembly polls
Jammu, Oct 24 (UNI) About 388 polling stations have been set up in the bordering Rajouri district for ensuing Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections, scheduled to be held in phase-II on November 23.
Besides, a list for setting up an additional 66 auxiliary polling booths has also been submitted to the Chief Electoral Officer for approval, official sources today said.
Of the 388 existing polling stations, 86 have been established in Nowshera, while 95, 124 and 83 are located in Darhal, Rajouri and Kalakote Assembly segments respectively, sources said.
About 81 have also been declared as hyper-sensitive in the district, while 166 sensitive,'' an official said.
Every Tehsildar has been provided with two Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and directed to impart training to the electorate within their respective jurisdiction on war footing basis. ''They have been asked to train all the employees associated with elections,'' the official added.
Block Development Officers, ZEOs, Range Officers as well as teachers will assist Tehsildars of their respective areas in imparting the EVM training to the electorate in special camps, sources informed.
