Two shot dead, two nabbed in Manipur

Imphal, Oct 23 (UNI) Two militants were shot dead by police today. Imphal West police commando shot dead a cadre of Kangleipak Communist Party at Takhel Sanjenbam Loukon.

The KCP was involved in the Imphal bomb blast on Tuesday night.

In another incident a suspected militant was also shot dead at Sekmaijin, Imphal.

Assam Rifles PRO said based on specific information troops of 8 Assam Rifles of 26 Sector under HQ IGAR (South) launched operation in general area New Longja, Chandel district and apprehended one suspected individual.

On spot interrogation the apprehended revealed that he was an active cadre of People's Liberation Army (PLA ) and was involved in drug trafficking and and also in money transfer to PLA camps in Myanmar. The apprehended is identified as Khaidem Nanao Singh.

In another Incident, troops of 31 Assam Rifles of 26 Sector under HQ IGAR (South) launched operation in general area Ward NO 5, Moreh, Chandel district and apprehended one suspected People's Revolutionary party of Kangleipak (PREPAK) cadre today.

He was based at Tamu, Myanmar. He alongwith SS Cpt Vickey Lama, apprehended earlier were responsible for killing of persons working for security force in Moreh.
