RBI fixes reference rate at Rs 49.79 per USD
Mumbai, Oct 23 (UNI) The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) today fixed the reference rate for US dollar at Rs 49.79 per unit, up by 50 paise, against yesterday's rate of Rs 49.29 per dollar.
The reference rate for Euro also shot up by Rs 56 paise to Rs 63.91 per unit from its last close of Rs 63.35 per unit, an RBI release said.
The exchange rates for Pound and Japanese Yen against the Rupee were quoted high at Rs 81.2747 (80.4043) per Pound and Rs 50.81 (49.53) per 100 units of Yen, it added.
