MDMK leader Vaiko arrested for pro-LTTE speeches
Chennai, Oct 23: Marumalarchi DMK (MDMK) General Secretary Vaiko was arrested from his Anna Nagar Residence on Thursday, Oct 23. Chief Minister Karunanidhi passed an order for his out and out support for a different Tamil land in India. He was arrested for the unconditional support to LTTE in the ongoing Sri Lanka crisis and for making pro-LTTE speeches.
This is reportedly the third time Vaiko was arrested for similar charges. He has been take to Egmora court.
The Police action followed Vaiko's fiery speech at a public meeting here on Tuesday, Oct 21. Vaiko had declared that he would support even an armed struggle for the cause of Sri Lankan Tamils.
