Malegaon, Gujarat blasts handiwork of Hindu groups
New Delhi, Oct 23: War of words were exchanged on Thursday, Oct 23 in Parliament as CPI-M member Brinda Karat claimed that Hindu extremist groups were involved in the recent terror attacks in Malegaon and Gujarat.
Maharashtra Anti-Terror squad supporting the claim has proof that extremist Hindu groups were involved in the Malergaon blast which killed 5 Muslims. Police sources say they have taken custody of certain individuals belonging to the group from Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh. Evidence of a Hindu group involvement emerged while tracing the origins of a scooter found in Malegaon.
Calling the claim atrocious, BJP says Hindu groups could not be involved in acts of terror, while the Congress says if there is evidence they will investigate it.
Reacting to Brinda Karat's comments on communities being associated with terror, Union Minister Kapil Sibal said terror has no religion. “All those who indulge in violence are criminals. Do not associate criminals with any community," he said.
