Mumbai, Oct 23 (UNI) Bombay High court today asked Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to conduct further probe into the in famous Pawanraje Nimbalkar murder case.
Nimbalkar, a Congress leader, was allegedly murdered on Pune-Mumbai Expressway on June 3, 2006 near Kalamboli.
The Division bench, consisting of Justice S B Mahse and Justice V K Tahilramani, gave direction in response to the petition moved by wife of the deceased Anandibai, alleging that former minister Padam Singh Patil and others were involved in it, and sought a direction for the CBI probe.
During the hearing of the petition, the court had earlier directed the local investigating agency to procure details of cell phone records of the deceased on the date of incident to clarify the exact time of the incident. This was necessary as the name of a Chhota Rajan gang member Vicky Malhotra had come up in connection with the murder during narco-analysis of Tanaji Patel, a suspect in the case.
According to the report, Patel in his test had revealed the name of some politicians.
