Fire in leather factory controlled

Kolkata, Oct 23 (UNI) The fire, which broke out in a leather factory at Tangra on the eastern outskirts of the city this morning, was controlled after 30 fire engines were pressed into service to douse the flame.

Fire brigade sources said the blaze was controlled after battling for five hours.

A huge loss was reported in the fire which was caused by short circuit, the sources said.

There was no report of any casualty.
