Engineer held for killing girlfriend

Bhopal, Oct 23 (UNI) An engineer, who stabbed to death his girlfriend at her flat in Pune city on Monday, was arrested from a railway station here, police said today.

Local-residents Manu (25) and Khusboo were classmates in an engineering college here and worked together for one year before getting a job in Pune.

After years of friendship, they broke-up and in a fit of rage Manu stabbed Khushboo at her flat. As he reached by train yesterday, the Habibganj police, on a tip-off from Pune, arrested him, a police spokesman said.

Maharashtra police, scheduled here today, would take Manu in their custody for further judicial procedure in Pune.

Meanwhile, Khusboo's parents reached Pune to perform the last rites and returned today, police added.
