Coimbatore: Corp checks drinking water

Coimbatore, Oct 23: After a series of complaints were registered about the drinking water, the water supply officials began monitoring the quality of drinking water supplied under the Siruvani and Pilloor schemes.

“After filtering water, people should boil it for 15 minutes, including rolling boiling for five minutes. Only then will the water be safe for drinking," Assistant City Health Officer R Sumathi said. Checking chlorine content was routine, but extra attention was being bestowed in drinking water because of rain.
