Security beefed up at BJP's Chhattisgarh office
Raipur, Oct 22 (UNI) Security has been beefed up at the Bharatiya Janata Party's Chhattisgarh office in view of the situation arising out of 18 sitting MLAs being denied tickets for the coming polls.
Hundreds of supporters of Parliamentary Secretary Poonam Chandrakar generated pandemonium at the office this afternoon as Mr Chandrakar was denied the Mahasamund ticket. Mr Chandrakar himself warned of a protest.
His confidantes told UNI that Mr Chandrakar would meet BJP bigwigs and quit the party if his plea went unheard.
Police later set up barricades on roads leading to the office.
